Jack in the Jewel Box is cloth character, an ode to my grandmother, as he is covered with much of her costume jewelry. His cloth face is a combination of shaped and flat areas, painted to look completely 3D. He is dressed in a silk shirt and ruffled ribbons, with a tapestry headdress. The box he is coming out of is covered on all sides with glass beads, broken jewelry, and glass buttons. The little puppet he holds is also oil painted and dressed in silks.
