Abstract Landscapes
This series is a modern take on the landscape. May of these works have spray painted elements and neon highlights.
Lamp Series
I started these lamps in the Fall of 2022 and they have evolved as any painting or sculptural piece does. I am particularly interested in the weighless look, and they feel a bit like anemones or other underwater creatures which is a 3D leap from the paintings in this same vein.
They seem mid-century in their layering and up close have a Deco-esque simplicity that changes as they are illuminated.
It is a clear inspiration from my art heros Ruth Asawa and Buckminster Fuller.
Moon Series
These paintings are abstracted landscapes with a full moon image. The moons are created on top of paper and the surface is textured with a Damar Varnish and Beeswax mixture ( encaustic medium) which the gold is then pressed into.
Plantlife Series
These pieces often use actual plant matter as a stencil to spray paint acrylic paint through onto fine watercolor paper.
Underwater Reefscapes
These pieces are created with stenciling through fine lace, often handmade, with spray paint and other hand painted forms. They are then collaged to a paper surface and mounted either on board panel or canvas.
