Place identity, like personal identity, is the product of individual understanding through connecting the new to the known. But each of senses of this place or that person exist in silent dialog with how others see and understand these same things. In this work I layer two images from different parts of Yellowstone National Park (the new), taken on a trip home from an artist residency, and one of Golden Gardens Park in my home town of Seattle (the known).
