Reflections

Reflections is a vivid watercolor painting located at Chadron State College in the Burkhiser Technology Complex depicting a crystal flower vase with a white rose in the vase, sat on top of a blanket with images of paper fans with different colors. The reflection part of the painting depicts the vase as if the reflection is turning into an illusion where the vase is curvy and turns into a massive circle with a red rose in the center (as the white roses reflection). It also showcases a buffalo stampede in the reflection.

Donald Ruleaux (1931-2020) grew up on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with his English Mother and French/Indian Father. Ruleaux gained his education from many different places, he achieved his B.A. in Art Education and a M.A. in Education after attending the Kansas City Art Institute, Chadron State College, George Washington University and Arizona State University. He is best known for his silver-point drawings and his watercolor paintings. He lived in Chadron, Nebraska where he was a faculty member on the art department at Chadron State College and worked as a professional artist.
