Gus Klenke's Garage is a unique old building located right off of Hwy 42 as you drive through Ellison Bay. Next to it, Gus Klenke's old pickup truck is still parked. Gus originally came to Ellison bay back in 1918. At the time, the building was used as a cheese factory. In the late 1920's, it converted to a garage that sold Standard Oil products. When Gus Klenke owned the garage, it became known as the place in town where locals could repair their broken machines. Gus was famous for improvising parts from scrap. Gus also raised bees as a hobby and sold the honey at his garage. As of 2025, the garage is no longer operational as a business, but it is loved and decorated every change of season by the community.
