I happened upon these curious cuties and got permission from the farmer to paint them from life. However, I committed the cardinal sin when painting cows...I worked on the background first! Of course it started to rain before I had finished, so I had to pack up for the session. When I came back the next morning, the cows were gone! I saw them on the next hill over, out on pasture. So I finished painting the cows using several reference photos I had taken the first time I saw them.
