Treasured is a tribute to love and loss. It is the space where the tangible and the intangible co-exist in our minds and hearts.
The piece began as a black and white monotype printed on a table top etching press, laying different types of nets across the surface to spray creating a stencil effect of fragmented patterns across the surface. Recognizing that nothing is either- or, but can be both. The print was then attached with archival glue to a cradled birch panel. Encaustic (hot fused wax) was used to collage materials and manipulate the surface to unveil the treasures that continue to reveal themselves.
