Nanc Gordon is an award-winning fine art painter who works in watercolor and acrylic and is a signature member of The Southwestern Watercolor Society. Nanc has exhibited with the Southwestern Watercolor Society, American Women Artists, The Society of Watercolor Artists and The Watercolor Art Society as well as others.
Originally from Boston, MA, Nanc attended Parsons School of Design in New York earning a BFA. For many years Nanc worked as a graphic designer in New York and Boston before receiving a certificate in decorative painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. In Boston, Nanc owned a decorative painting business that specialized in floorcloths and furniture. After a move to Dallas, TX, Nanc decided to become a fine art painter and hasn't looked back.
Using up to fifty layers of delicate watercolor glazes, Nanc captures the luminosity of each bloom. In this current series, Nanc uses a square format and a rich black background made up of ten different colors for a contemporary look.
Statement
I pursue the beauty of flowers in watercolor to reconnect us with nature and create a sense of calm in a hectic world.
