Amy Holland is a local Forsyth artist and high school art teacher. As a child Amy was always making and creating with whatever she could find. At age 12 her mother passed down a 120 format Kodak camera starting her love of capturing compositions on film of nature. She earned a Bachelors of Art and Science at North Georgia College focusing on textiles with a minor in business marketing. After her undergraduate degree she worked as an advertising manager for the Handweavers Guild of America, an international non-profit art organization in the Atlanta area. She discovered a love for teaching art while volunteering for a community based program that provided after school activities and tutoring for a Hispanic community in Gainesville. Returning to the University of North Georgia she earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Art Education. For the past 12 years she has been teaching visual art in the Forsyth County School system and is currently at West Forsyth High School. When she is not teaching or in her studio creating you can find her on a trail with her camera gathering inspiration.
