Born in 1993, in Arlington, Texas, Micah Haji-Sheikh (they/she) is a queer nonbinary artist based in Las Vegas, Nevada. After getting a degree in education from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, Micah decided to jump whole-heartedly into the arts world. With a background in fiber art and a new love of foundry and casting, Micah has been creating a body of work around the diaspora of being a third generation Persian-American, and their family's choice to assimilate. Micah’s work has been featured at Core Contemporary Gallery, Las Vegas City Hall, and on Southwest Contemporary. When they are not in the studio, Micah spends much of their days with their partner and three dogs exploring the great north.
