The piece is included in the work "Corso Geografico", edited in Venice by the famous Italian cartographer, engraver and cosmographer Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (1650-1718), a Franciscan friar, humanist and researching scholar. The work is an exceptional graphic representation of the founding principles of geography. The two hemispheres include the Equator line, the longitudes and latitudes, the main climatic regions of the globe, the two poles, etc. Engraving on copper, manually coloured after imprinting.
