LAYERED PAPER
The process involves layering paint, collage, paint and more paint, creating layers and layers with colours, shapes and designs that are scraped, sanded, scratched and dug into, repainted, revealing and leaving bits of the past, the history of each layer. A story emerges, your story, my story, that blends this history with the final design, which is rich in texture. The beauty is in the discovery, the rich surface and the hidden bits that can only be seen by getting close and exploring its secrets.
Paper Works
My paper works are my time playing in my artist sandbox; exploring, learning and developing my interests and diversity. They are often quick, fun and spontaneous, reflecting the mood that I am in and the stories and the conversation that I have in my pieces in the solitude and quietness of my studio. They are completely, raw, fun and sincere. They can easily be mounted on numerous surfaces, framed, unframed under glass or left with the surface raw. They have been varnished for longevity and the ability to be mounted without glass.
