The colours came fast in this one. Warm corals, peaches, pinks, soft creams, flashes of yellow… all bumping into one another with this playful, slightly chaotic energy that somehow still feels completely alive and right. The black marks move through the surface almost like thoughts trying to catch up to the feeling.
I kept laughing while painting this piece because every time I thought, “okay that’s probably enough,” the painting basically answered back, “absolutely not.”
And honestly… thank goodness.
There’s movement everywhere in this piece. Scribbles, scratches, layered decisions, moments covered up and rediscovered again. It feels confident, impulsive, emotional, and a little bit fearless. Like saying yes before you’ve fully figured out the plan and realizing halfway through that maybe that’s where the good stuff actually lives.
Created on a 36” x 48” canvas, this work explores instinct, momentum, joy, risk, and the beautiful energy that happens somewhere between hesitation and full commitment, and somewhere out there, someone loves orange.
