It's that peacefulness that flows through my cells when I am on the water. Perhaps because I am a Pisces, although I think it has to do with so many things. The sun is high in the sky, the playfulness of the sunlight on the water, the rhythm of the waves, except at that special time of the day when the world is quiet, except for the calling of a loon. The water is ever-changing, giving us so much, but at the same time, it demands our respect and honour for its presence. I am not sure why this painting, this connection, but when it does, I can't choose to change its mind. I know I have tried a zillion times. To all those times on the dock, or sitting on the big flat stones along the water's edge, the mystical time when the day is done, the sun is low, and the world is golden. To the land that holds us, every minute if we take the time to feel it.
