Saying more with less. Simplicity, choosing what’s important and essential to telling your story, my story allowing the viewer to weave their personal narrative. The process involves layering paint, collage, paint and more paint, creating layers and layers with colours, shapes and designs that are scraped, sanded, scratched and dug into, repainted, revealing and leaving bits of the past, the history of each layer. A story emerges that blends this history with the final design, which is rich in texture. The beauty is in the discovery, the rich surface and the hidden bits that can only be seen by getting in close and exploring its secrets.
