My studio is a disaster, with papers strewn everywhere. Journal notes, to-do lists, dress patterns, newspapers, you name it, are tossed on the floor to be walked on, paint-splattered, note jotted, rusted, spray-painted or a place to clean my brush, a place to practice a mark or circle. These pieces become the foundation of my work. Layered, covered, ripped and collaged onto the surface, only covered with more paint and paper, leaving hints of their story. A surface rich in visual texture, from which intuition can take centre stage. Hope was born of this abandonment, grabbing spray paint and colours never dared before. I want to share this feeling of curiosity with the viewer, inviting them to discover and enjoy it for themselves, to find their own stories hidden within, and to hope and believe that anything is possible.
