Visions of 2021

Surviving COVID and Moving the Studio to Tennessee

Visions of 2021

It's been quite an eventful two months since our last post in December 2020. Let us catch you up...

The week before Christmas, Miriam tested positive for the virus despite taking all the precautions (masks, social distancing, hand washing, quarantining, etc.). We are still not exactly sure where she came in contact with it.

She faired well for the first five days but then started having trouble with exhaustion, dehydration and some breathing. We were fortunate to receive approval for emergency use a monoclonal antibody infusion which ultimately helped dampen the severity of the virus. She still required hospitalization and rehab for almost a month. With the care of some great doctors, nurses and support staff, she is now recovering well but will need closer care moving forward.

As such, she will be permanently moving her home and art studio here with family in Crossville, Tennessee. That's both exciting and filled with challenges as we build an expansion the home in Crossville to include an art studio, office, and storage as well as sell her home in Birmingham in 2021.

Having her in Crossville where I can assist her with her art cataloging, social media, etc. will open up new avenues for you to interact with her over the Internet that we previously closed. You'll be seeing and hearing more of Miriam online. While her vision and coordination is still not what it was before COVID, we are happy to report that she is drawing and sketching again, and working on some new art projects.

For those of you in Birmingham and Alabama, you can still view and purchase her artwork online, and we will ship it direct to your home. If you would like to see a work in person before the studio and artwork move to Tennessee in the coming year, please contact us for an appointment.
