Jesus and the Devil are standing on the last overlook above the valley. The place chosen by the artist was Vestavia on the last remaining overlooks of the home of George Ward. Below to left of the painting is Samford University and to the right the homes and trees with Vulcan scarcely seen on the mountain above Homewood.
