Luke 24:28-29

As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he was going further. But they urged him strongly "Stay with us for it is nearly evening, the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them.

Artist Notes:
Mountain Brook has always been a very hard subject for me. Perhaps because of too many memories of growing up there. Yet, that is where I would like for Emmaus to be as an artist. There is a little bridge there right before you enter the village. Jesus in the drawing is to the right of the bridge and he pretends to go further and they urged him to stay, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.
