This work depicts the twenty-one Egyptian Coptic Christian construction workers beheaded by ISIS on the beach in 2015. The horror of the scene evoked in me both anger and tears. I wanted to do a pastel of the scene so that they would not be forgotten. Also in the work above the sunrise there is a personal statement of an angel in the sky.
