During the pandemic, Miriam moved from her home of 80 plus years to live with her son and family in Crossville, Tennessee. During her previous visits to Crossville, Miriam would paint at the Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville.
As part of the Cumberland Homesteads Project, the Works Progress Administration constructed a bridge, dam, and lake at Cumberland Mountain State Park, Tennessee in 1940 under the supervision of Alvin C. York of World War I fame. This painting is of that bridge.
The park also has a beautiful paved trail around the edge of the lake that Miriam takes exercise around when the weather is nice.
