The totem pole cactus is a sculptural plant with smooth skin and undulating, bulbous ridges running from top to bottom, resembling a totem pole. I chose a horizontal cross-section of this cactus as a foil to its inherently vertical form. Découpaged imagery of colors and textures encourage a surreal interpretation.
