Écoute by Miguel Maltos Gonzales Image: Ecoute is the first public art piece I saw in Paris, France. I walked out of the metro, and there it was. I love how people were able to walk up and tough the textured stone. Children held the large fingers. I saw people taking photos and enjoying this public art. Just as art should be, for ether people to engage with. This sculpture is named Ecoute meaning listen and the inscription on the plaque below states, “ Listening to underground murmurings, like a pebble, this sculpture is randomly stranded from an imaginary tide on the shores of time.” I focused on the sounds of the city around me the church bell, a man playing guitar, children playing, footsteps, and the murmuring of conversations.
