This piece is inspired by the incredible spring wildflower bloom of 2019. One of characteristics of wet felting is the fiber transfer that happens during the process. This is the action of felting: the fibers mingle with each other, and colors become blended and toned. The flower "fins" were much brighter prior to felting, but the undercolor caused the colors to mute. Another example of "fins."
