In addition to observing the natural world for subject matter, I look at other artists' work for inspiration and techniques. The fins (protrusions) on "Mountains" are a process learned in a class taught by Kristy Kun. Her work is so distinctive that I struggled to make the technique individual to me. I feel I did so in "Mountains on Mountains.
