Ron Meyers candlestick depicting a green fish. This candlestick was made in the artist's Ithaca, NY, summer studio during the pandemic summer of 2020. It was fired in the gas kiln firing (cone 1) that was unloaded from the kiln on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
Ron was not happy with the result and stored it in his studio for the following year. In the attached photo, it may be viewed in the kiln prior to refiring on Saturday, July 31, 2021, with Eric Rempe helping to load the kiln. It was unloaded on Monday, August 2, 2021. It may be seen on the shelves in one of the included pictures, in its post-fired state.
This and a matching candlestick (also in this collection) were purchased a day later for the collection during my visit to his summer home. Additional photos here depict the candlesticks post-second-firing, on the work table of the outdoor shed by the kiln, and finally on the indoor table of the studio with other items purchased by me, as Ron prepares to pack them up for departure.
