Statement
Michelle works in painting, drawing, installation and digital media. Her practice is driven by investigations of emotional and physical landscapes using mediums that lend themselves to intuitive line work and immersive experience. She interchanges analog, digital, and interactive media to explore the transportive potential of images. Her work is informed by children’s literature, magical surrealism writings and films, animation, and studies in the built environment. Michelle view’s drawing as a form of thinking through intangible landscapes, memories, and realms beyond language. Walking, meandering, and embracing a sensation of being lost is integral to the creation of worlds that are in themselves, ambiguous, fragile, and convoluted in their makeup.
