A chaotic mosaic of text, image and texture, Light Collateral confronts the machinery of modern identity, misinformation, and industrialised conformity. Fragmented slogans, vintage propaganda, and distorted portraits combine with genomic code and religious overtones to question how we are labelled, watched, and conditioned.
This piece was created in direct response to a track by BoneMachine, with layered painting techniques echoing the depth, discord, and pulse of the music. Described by BoneMachine as “dark and apocalyptic in its interpretation,” the painting explores themes of surveillance, moral ambiguity, and the repetition of systemic lies. It draws viewers into a multi-layered visual field, rich with hidden messages, Easter eggs, and embedded narratives.
As described by black_squirrel_obsessions:
“This one is dark — really really dark — and I love it… so many layers and meaning, little Easter eggs and background stories.”
Light Collateral rewards slow looking. It asks: are we peaceful or angry, angel or devil, truth or clone — or simply told what we are?
