It is a commemorative for the Ft Pierce Inlet 100th anniversary and showed recently in a juried group show with the American Society of Marine Artists at the Krasl Art Center in St Joseph, MI.
Here is the description:
Sea Dogs captures that time at the end of the day where salty Treasure Coast fishermen gather at the dock for cleaning the catch. The ritual would be peaceful except for he accompanying mass of sea birds - Pelicans, Egrets, Heron, Ibis - all elbowing, flapping, squawking, jousting beaks, vying for a closer position to the upcoming feast. They press in like a pack of dogs for scraps the sailor happily tosses to them, glad for a quick disposal of heads and tails. This painting is set in Florida just off the Ft. Pierce inlet, which celebrates a one hundred year anniversary this year. It’s a place where many “Sea Dogs” both he human and feathered kind, have gathered for generations to share the day’s bounty.
