Michael Sean Kirby is a Houston based artist/sculptor who works with a variety of materials: bronze, stone, fiberglass, concrete and clay. Michael is a faculty member in the sculpture department at the Glassell School of Art. In 2022, his work titled, "Ouroboros" was acquired by the city of Houston's Civic Art Collection and is on permanent display at Houston Hobby Airport. 

Kirby is a graduate of the University of Texas, and he achieved a Master's Degree in Visual Arts – with honors – from the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City, in 2001. His artwork has been shown around Texas and in Mexico, including the University Pinacoteca Alfonso Michel, Contemporary Art Museum Houston, and Sculpture Month Houston. He is a contributing writer for Art Houston Magazine, and dedicated to artists exhibitions and art education.

Michael Sean Kirby is a contemporary sculptor. He earned an arts degree from the University of Texas and a Master's Degree in Visual Arts – with honors – from the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City. Additionally, he worked and acquired knowledge with master sculptors, Willy Wang and Roberto Ventura. Kirby’s artwork has been shown around the USA and in Mexico, including the University Pinacoteca Alfonso Michel, Contemporary Art Museum – Houston, Sculpture Month Houston – Rudolph Blume, The Big Show Lawndale, and Zoya Tommy Gallery. In 2021, the City of Houston acquired Kirby's recent work titled, "Ouroboros" for it's Civic Art Collection.

In 2010, he founded The Sculpture Workshop, and has worked with hundreds of students, expanding the sculptural experience for others. He currently resides in Houston, Texas, and continues teaching and making art.
