My background is in science and medicine, but I have always had a love of art and photography. I've taken several art courses but essentially am self-taught. I spend time looking and learning about art, and have felt the influence of Aaron Siskind, Minor White, Richard Serra. Mark Rothko and Pierre Soulages. I have shown in Boston and New York and my work is in several private collections. For me artistic expression is a kind of experimentation, seeking "solutions" or "answers" to how aesthetics get re-invented or re-defined. The creative process is one of repeated re-imagining and giving voice to feelings or ideas not previously encountered or understood . I hope to expand my viewing audience by sharing my creations and together discovering new ways to define and appreciate beauty.
