Table Tennis selected for gallery exhibit

Ordinary Lives - Art Saint Louis Exhibition July 31-September 9, 2021

Table Tennis, a 20"h x 16"w oil painting, was selected for exhibition in Ordinary Lives. The show is curated to feature "art works that focus on one's inner, private life, including interior dialogues to scenes of domesticity to the ordinary and the everyday becomes extraordinary." Jurors for the exhibit are St. Charles-based artist Sara Meredith, co-owner of Framations Gallery and St. Louis-based painter, David Ottinger, Professor Emertus of Art, McKendree University (1978-2016).

Michael comments on the painting stating "Table Tennis is also commonly known by its patented name Ping Pong. The game table is a seemingly ubiquitous item found in many garages and basements. Often seen in photos of pleasant residential interiors shown in shelter magazines, the presence of the game suggests a place of happiness and ordinary domesticity."

The exhibit open with a free public reception Saturday, August 7, 5-7pm. More information about Art Saint Louis here.
