"Backyard Pool," an oil painting by Michael Anderson has been selected for "Dreamlife" an online exhibition. "Dreamlife", a multi-media visual art exhibit featuring original artworks that explore the world of dreams, the act of dreaming, and the dream states we visit while sleeping, including dreams and nightmares is curated by Robin Hirsch-Steinhoff, Art Saint Louis Artistic Director.
Regarding his work Michael says “all paintings are dreams realized on canvas. Like still shots from a subconscious movie that plays in the artist’s daydreams or sleep, art is filled with random narratives, visions and symbols that beg for interpretation yet may defy explanation.”
Michael's work will be displayed in a virtual gallery along with 42 pieces selected from over 140 entries submitted to the gallery. “Dreamlife” will be presented exclusively online on the Art Saint Louis website from May 1 to July 1, 2021. In addition to the virtual gallery exhibit, all of the artworks in the exhibit will be featured in a Facebook album.
In 2021 Michael Anderson's paintings have exhibited in several group exhibitions including Insight, Cape Cod Museum of Art; Steampunk VI, Soulard Art Gallery; Best of GEAG, Edwardsville Art Center; Lay of the Land, Green Door Gallery and Hope, the previous Art Saint Louis virtual exhibition. Currently The Louvre Salon & Day Spa, Fairview Heights, IL is displaying over twenty paintings by Anderson in an untitled solo show.
