The 1958 science fiction story and subsequent novel by Daniel Keyes is told through a series of diary entries written by a mentally disabled man. His experimental quest for intelligence mirrors that of Algernon, an extraordinary lab mouse. While the experiment seems to be a hopeful scientific breakthrough its ultimate failure is a reminder of the transience of all things. Price includes gallery frame. Selected for Steam Punk VI exhibition, Soulard Art Gallery, 2021.
