Mia is a visual artist based in Ann Arbor, MI. Born in Sweden, she spent her childhood relocating to various countries, with her family, before moving to the U.S as a young adult. She attended Pratt Institute and Hunter College in NYC, and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts. She worked for many years as a book designer while raising her children, before returning to a full time art practice.
She has exhibited at various U.S. venues, participated in several art collaborations, and contributed work to the Art on a Postcard Summer Auction (2021), and the Rafiki Gallery Fundraiser for Ukraine (2022), both based in the UK. She has curated contemporary art exhibits for the Rasa Festival, and completed an artist residency at VCCA. She recently founded 813 Microgallery where she hopes to share art with her local community and showcase the work of diverse artists on a small scale.
