Cais da Estiva - Yellow, Porto, Portugal

Cais da Estiva is a well known road facing the Rio Douro River in Porto. These tall houses are very characteristic of this area and are very impressive when you stand in front of them - as most have 5 levels. I would think that you need to be good physical condition to own and house like this - just walking up and down the stairs would be great training.

This Wood piece was found in the Maldives and being thick (almost square) gives the house a nice three dimensional look. It had original yellow paint from it's previous life - which I worked around and added to - to give the house it's base color. It can either be hung or stand on it's own if that is the effect you are looking for. I've painted 2 other homes from this street on similar wood - and as usual these pieces look best in groups of three.
