Cais da Estiva is a well known road facing the Rio Douro River in Porto. These tall houses are very characteristic of this area and are very impressive when you stand in front of them - as most have 5 levels. This specific house was wide open on the ground floor with a small table and chairs - the perfect place to have an afternoon tea and watch the world go by.
This Wood piece was found in the Maldives and being thick and quite heavy gives the house a nice three dimensional look. It had original blue paint from it's previous life - which I worked around and added to - to give the house it's base color. This piece as well can stand on it's own on a desk or shelf if that is the effect you are looking for. I've painted 2 other homes from this street on similar wood - and as usual these pieces look best in groups of three. There are photos of the 3 houses together in this profile - so be sure to browse through and have a look.
