These small works are studies for new work in progress. They play with pattern, depth, and scale while looking like both close ups of algae covered ice and aerial views of the tundra and sea. They were made to help me figure out some new ideas about fog, ghosts, deep time, and ice as a storyteller.

These etchings use old etching plates made with ice cubes and acid along with more traditional techniques. Several use a stencil that is in the shape of highlights on a block of ice I took photos of in Svalbard in 2019.
