Welcome to Subiaco, Arkansas, consisting of the Subiaco academy and monastery and a population of 402 in the 2020 census.

It seems a while since I made that trip. I distinctly remember sweating my buns off AND being hungry because somehow I couldn’t find my meals for my weekend in Eureka Springs. A lonesome convenience store served up my gourmet meal of salty nuts, orange juice, Pringles, and a honey bun.

As I photograph, my focus is so intent I tend to ignore my body’s needs until I’m about ready to pass out and an Arkansas summer is nothing to mess about with.
