May is a Los Angeles-based landscape, portrait, and abstract artist who loves to paint from life. Inspired by the plein air movement, she creates beautiful artwork using oils, watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink, and illustrations for children's books. She captures natural light, emotional expressions in portraits, and the simplicity of forms, blending classic and contemporary styles that also influence her illustrations for several upcoming children's books.
May Charters is an award-winning filmmaker, actor, and flamenco dancer. She has had a successful career in fashion as a casting director for photographer Bruce Weber for over ten years. Her artistic experience inspires her stunning visual art. She also works in voiceover, lending her voice to video games, films, commercials, and documentaries. You can find her stories on the Calm App and hear her as the Loch Ness Monster, Nessy in Disney’s Mickey Mouse Funhouse.
Her artwork combines emotions of color, movement, and dance, making it a beautiful addition to any home!
