This waterfall painting is dedicated to my oldest brother Daniel. He was particularly enamored with this painting, and told me so. Tragically, a few months later my brother died of Covid. Daniel was an architect like myself, and he liked to discuss art and philosophy too.
This scene is on a small creek, the space felt like a small chapel to me. I created a small study, then came back several weeks later carrying this large canvas. I had to essentially carry it on my head up the creek. I left it overnight under some large overhanging rocks, so I didn't have to carry it back each night.
