I enjoy painting in the cutting gardens as there are new plants to see each time, and I usually get to chat with the gardening and Dixon staff and visitors that pass. I created this painting intentionally for this exhibit, shortly after the Dixon invited me to show my work. This was mid-morning, and the sun was moving quickly, so there was no time for detail. That is one of the challenges of plein air painting, picking a point in time and sticking with it, as the light changes constantly.
