This painting is largely inspired by a combination of three things. First, what's ready to harvest from my garden late in the year. Second, me going to the state fair. Then Third, in the autumn the local botanical garden has a tour of thousands of various squash and gourds in and around their regular plantings that show me lots of new things for me to try.
