Wood, mahogany
Carved by artist in the Traditional Japanese Noh mask style. The Japanese Mihon Noh Mask series are comprised of masks that represent demons, gods, and ghosts from ancient Buddhist mythology. Noh mask's are typically carved with cypress then painted over, but mahagony was chosen to create a distinct style for the artist.
Mahogany carved mask with long thin eyebrows, starting at bridge of nose and extending to the end of the forehead. One inch of space in between the eyebrows. Narrow almond eyes carved out completley. High cheekbones with full lips. Top lip is slightly thinner than the bottom. Light discoloration at the tip of the nose.
