Obeshimi. Carved wood. Artists interpretation of Japanese Noh Mask.
Full face mask. Angry demon-like expression. Eyebrows are furrowed with carved lines and wrinkles in the center and along the temples. Eyes are rounded and bulge out, with carved out circles. Nose is wide with flared nostrils. Mouth is downturned with clenched lips in an exaggerated frown. Carved frown lines and cheek folds on both sides of the mouth.
