Circle mandala. Cross-like shape painted blue and pink on the inner circle of mandala. Smaller circle behind the cross shape painted yellow, with a pink border. Purple border outline around inner circle, followed by a thin border of unpainted wood.

The Recycling the Sacred collection is composed of mandalas whose materials were primarily sourced from second hand stores. The artist began collecting variations of wood from second hand stores to later repurpose and give them "a new dignity and life." Many of the patterns used are inspired by ancient native cultures, particularly the basket and pottery designs of the Huhugam. Most of the mandalas take a circle shape, celebrating the Sacred Circle symbol and our place in it.
