Axé II. Full-face calaca skeleton mask made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer. Orange swirls come up from eye to cover forehead. at top of forehead is a blue circle with orange outline with two orange arches on either side. Thick orange lines and swirls and thin light blue lines are along the temples, cheeks, and jaw line. An orange V is painted on the chin with two small blue dots with orange outlines on the chin. Teeth are painted pink and blue.
Used by Axé Capoeira AZ during their drum processions at Cultural Coalition festivals. These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
