"Vanishing Point" - this Arcadian landscape
painted by Maryleen in a neo-classical style was inspired by the French Baroque painter Nicolas Poussin. The title refers to the artist's study of the perspective lines in Poussin's painting, drawn from the group of figures, all crossing in one central point on the horizon - a so called vanishing point - and the symbolic meaning of the location of this crossing point, which can be seen as a transition from earthly life into eternity.
