'Freedom Symphony' is one of the artist's neo-classical paintings, in which an independent idea - Freedom - is expressed, but which also can be seen as studies after the 17th century French Baroque painter, Nicolas Poussin. As the Renaissance was dawning into the Baroque, Poussin revived a Greek aesthetic idiom. In 'Freedom Symphony', a monumental composition arranges groups of classical figures, who are united in a dance movement, and coming to life in a contemporary way.
