When the sun is setting, leave whatever you are doing and watch it. -MEHMET MURAT ILDAN
π
Oh my, those colors are ablaze tonight! It was a little later and darker than I wanted. I grabbed Sir Kitty and my art supplies as I hurried onto the deck to behold the sight of this glorious spectacle of color happening right outside my front door!
.
I held the first sight of colors in my mind as the light faded into darker and lesser vibrant, fiery shades of the sun setting. The warm glow slipping over the mountains and scene before me tingled my mind as I painted.
.
I worked fast, laying down deep colors of Hookerβs green for the mid-ground and sap green for the foreground. Painting in sunset colors, I mixed shades of cerulean blue, titanium white, quinacridone magenta, lemon yellow, and quinacridone burnt orange. I realized that these sky-blazing colors might be unbelievable in a painting; they were there before me. I saw them with my own eyes.
.
It was almost dark when I finished. I hope you can feel this sunset as I felt it that night.
